Meiosis is presented in the context of 3 modeling exercises designed to show the biological significance of meiosis. Comparisons between meiosis and the processes involved in mitosis are investigated. Questions associated with the unit highlight the nuances of both meiosis and mitosis in the context of their end result. Oogenisis and spermatogenesis are also presented.
